MY APPROACH
I view the therapy process as a partnership where the two of us are working together to gain an integrated understanding of the problems you have encountered. My aim is to help you become aware of tendencies and patterns that may not be readily apparent and to support you in developing effective coping skills that are rooted in authenticity. Alleviating symptoms may be a central goal. However, I believe it is important to consider each patient as an individual and to illuminate the underlying mechanisms contributing to symptoms and struggles. I also believe it is important to understand each patient’s personal strengths as well as their difficulties. I find that working in this way promotes deep insight, durable change, and overall wellbeing.
I incorporate psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to offer a highly personalized approach geared towards each patient’s individual needs, interests, and goals. I will work with you collaboratively, and it is my priority to nurture trust within a safe, supportive setting.
